EXPERIENCE AND MAJOR ACCOMPLISHMENTS

2000 (June) to Present: DELCOM Oilfield SERVICES
General Manager of Operations & Business Development – Accountable to the Group Managing Director

• Managed the Oilfield Division - in charge of 4 major contracts.
The Division achieved a PAT of RM1.8 million in 2000, with average of 10% growth every year to achieve a PAT of RM6.8 million in 2006.

• Played a major role in the Management Team involved in the stock listing exercise.
Company was listed on the first board in June 2007.

• Responsible for key marketing and business developments within the Division.
During the last 7 years, we were awarded several major contracts worth a total of US500 million.

• Selected as an Executive committee member for the Group in 2004.
The Groups PAT was improved from RM8 million in 2004 to RM21 million in 2006.

• Provide critical Technical/Management Support to overseas JV partners
During the last 3 years, JV Companies bottom lines were improved by an average of 20%.

1997 (June) to 2000 (June): MUHIBBAH ENGINEERING
General Manager of Steel Division – Accountable to the Group Managing Director

• Project Manager for LANGKAWI KEDAH Cement plant worth RM25 million
Project was completed 2 months ahead of time with a profit of 17%; 2% exceeded budget

• Project Manager for the CHEDEROH Dam Rehabilitation project worth RM11 million
Project was delay by 2 months under unforeseen circumstances but with a profit of RM2.2 million

• Promoted to General Manager and subsequently assigned to manage the Steel Division.
The Steel Division PAT was RM0.5 million in year 1997 and improved to RM4.8 million in year 2000

• I was selected by Management to participate in the purchase of FAVELLE FALCO (crane-company).
Successfully negotiated on an asking price of A-$11.5 million to a final selling price of A-$7.7 million

• Assigned the task of exporting the crane manufacturing facility from Australia to Malaysia.
Local facility was set up in 3 months and the first unit was rolled out of the factory within 4 months.

1982(March) to 1995 (April): SEDCO FOREX SCHLUMBERGER

Rig Manager – Accountable to the District Manager (Oman district from 1993 to 1995)
I was transferred to Oman and was appointed Rig Manager, reporting directly to the District Manager. SEDCO FOREX SCHLUMBERGER is one of the biggest drilling contractors in the world and I was given the day-to-day responsibility in managing 2 active land rigs.

• I was responsible for managing 2 active land rigs operating in difficult terrain in Oman. The combined rigs employed 200 people and generated US8.5 million per year.
Met yearly budget with an average of 15% net margin

• Negotiated a major contract renewal under difficult conditions. Performed analysis and presentation of hidden cost saving to our client and the value of our services. This resulted in 15% overall improvement in revenue.

• Successfully reduced the warehouse stock from US250k to US200k in 3 months without any adverse impact to equipment downtime.

• In my 4 years management, I had introduced several safety campaigns and promotional mechanisms. For these exercises, the 2 rigs under my management achieved 3 years and 5 years NLTA. We were commended by our customer (PDO) for these coveted accomplishments.

Rig Manager – Accountable to the District Manager (Thailand district from 1990 to 1993)
I was transferred to Bangkok, Thailand and was promoted to Rig Manager managing a Semi-Submersible rig operating in the Gulf of Thailand. This operation employed 108 people and generated US12.8 million per annum.

• Implemented several operational improvement mechanisms to improve rig general performance. Rig broke several records, and by end of 1991, S601 was hailed as the fastest drilling semi in the world.

• Introduced and personally supervised the implementation of the ILCI (International Loss Control/Program) to the rig beginning 1992. Rig was audited by a Professional Auditor. A one-star Advance raring was awarded.

• Implemented an aggressive training program for Thai nationals to reduce the expatriate population from 25% to 20%. In less than 2 year, target was exceeded; expatriate population was reduced from 25% to 18%.

• Achieved a considerable improvement in net profit, from 18% in 1990 to 21% in 1991, and further improvement to 25% in 2002.

• Successfully reduced the warehouse stock from US650k to US550k by introducing past data on min/max ordering point to all major/critical equipment.

Senior Staff Engineer – Accountable to the Rig Manager (1986 to 1990)
I was transferred to Sarawak in 1986 and was appointed as Senior Staff Engineer managing a tender assisted barge operating in the South China Sea. The rig was contracted to Shell.

• Responsible for the smooth operation of one tender barge operating in the South China Sea. This barge employed 72 people with average revenue of US4.2 million/year.

• Successfully converted a tender barge accommodation area to meet ISO A414 standards without operational downtime. Modification was carried out on budget.

• Planned and supervised dry docking of a tender barge at SABAH Shipyard. Major repairs to hull, piping, deck plating and bulk head modifications. Project was completed ahead of schedule and on budget..

• Critically managed all aspects of bidding contracts. During this period, succeeded in securing a contract for one year (with options) for one Jack-Up operating in Brunei.

Rig Engineer – Accountable to the Rig Manager (1985 to 1986)

• After completing my training program, my first assignment was to assist the Rig Manager in mobilizing a HELI-RIG from MEDAN in Indonesia to PAPUA NEW GUINEA. Thereafter, I was assigned to work on the Rig to assist the Tool Pusher. The rig drilled 3 very difficult exploratory wells without any major incident.

Trainee Engineer, in PAU, France & Saudi Arabia (1982 to 1985)

• I was assigned as a Trainee Engineer in various locations in France and Saudi Arabia. I completed the courses successfully with distinctions. During my last 12 months, I was assigned as Night Pusher on a heavy land rig operating in the remotest part of Saudi Arabia.

Power Station Engineer

• Responsible as a Plant Maintenance Engineer responsible for smooth operation of 2 Gas and Steam turbines at SENOKO Power Station. Spent 2 years in the Instrumentation and Control Department.
